What is it about many of us that continue to attempt to cultivate friendships/relationships that are nonexistant already? Whether it be a work, personal or family relationship...I think at some point in time we have all refused to let go of something that just isn't there anymore or is unhealthy to our own well being. I have several close people in my life who are strugglig with similar issues and it has made me take a long look at myself and the things I do to hang on to things I feel are important to me, but in reality...I am the only that it matters to. If it mattered to others as well, they would also go out of their way to show things mattered to them as well. It only takes a moment out of ones day to acknowledge another person. I find as I age I am tired of being the only to do this, its time for me to sit back and let someone else do it for a change:
The only people you need in your life are the ones that prove they need you in theirs.

Last night is the first time that we have really had the chance to fully utilize the opportunities that our pool has to offer  We had friends over...no ....dinner a few drinks and a very hot time in the pool later. The water, friends and evening were all perfect! Not to mention the sex!  I can't wait to do this again!

Hubby and I have been in the lifestyle for about 8 years now. We have really not met anyone new in several years but have a few regular couples and single males (for me) that we get together with when time and life permits.
My favorite single male, we have played with each other for about 5 years, ended things this year. While I am totally bummed that there is no more playtime, I will respect his wishes and still remain his friend. But damn am I gonna miss the mind blowing sex!
Another really fun playmate that we have known since right after we entered the lifestyle has been more of a friend than a playmate. While I wish we had the opportunity to play more, the women in his life are not big fans of the lifestyle. That is just a line I won't cross. As much as I enjoy playing with him, I won't hurt the one is with. I know how it would make me feel to find out my husband had cheated on me, so I will never knowingly ever put myself in a place where I know it could hurt someone else. He is currently going thru divorce #3 since we have known him. While I am sad for him that his marriage is ending, a part of me is doing a happy dance because when the dust settles some, I'm gonna get me some!!! It has been about 4 years since we last played and a lot of things have happened in that time in both of our lives. To say the least I am very anxiously awaiting the dust to settle!

I am sick of being told over and over what a great friend I am, only to be blown off at every turn. Treat your friends as you yourself would like to be treated. I really don't think I could face myself everyday if I knew I had made one of my friends feel bad in any way, even unintentionally.
Sorry have had a crappy day and needed to blow of some steam. Hope you all had better days than me!

There is a man that I used to encounter on a fairly regular basis with my old job. Now that I have moved to a new job, I only have very limited dealings with him. Sexually speaking, I can honestly say I don't think I have ever wanted to get my freak on with anyone this bad before. He is going through a divorce and knows that I am married, but has always been very flirtatious and almost overly friendly...though very respectful whenever we run into each other. Hubby and I have been in the lifestyle for about 8 years, in that time any playmates we have had have also come from lifestyle sites or events. We have never tried to "pick up" anyone not in the lifestyle. Has anyone else run into this before? How did you go about it? What is the best way to "put yourself out there" without actually saying "Hey, my husband and I sleep with other people for fun?"

So I have known the owner of the Swamp Dogs (local Fayetteville baseball team) for a number of years, he has twice given my family free tickets to go out and see a game and one thing or another has prevented us from going out. Well he gave me tickets again a few weeks ago and we went out to see the final home game of the season. As a growing up, I was always at out local team's games. I loved it. So it was really pleasant to go out and see the game last night. I forgot how much I enjoyed a good baseball game. Will have to make sure that this goes on the "things to do" list for next summer.

So my goal this year is to get back into shape...Being lazy, hibernating because of winter and sitting behind a desk all day have been catching up with me. So I have been excersising pretty consistantly for near a month now. With the exceptions of Wednesdays. I have to get allergy shots on Weds. and can't workout. I am finding that I REALLY like my workouts in the afternoons and on days that I don't get to to them...I get really cranky. I guess it is a good thing and is keeping me motivated to stay at it.

So hubby left this morning for the week on business, we will wait to "celebrate" Valentine's Day when he comes home. That being said, we don't ever really do much for Valentine's Day as dear hubby thinks it is a made up holiday for Hallmark to make a buck. To a point I agree with him...however the girl in me still wants the day at least acknowledged, a card and a book or a card and a potted something to go in my garden works for me. Not really into fresh cut flowers. 1) they just die and its kind of depressing and 2) if I have the potted flowers I get flowers all year Plus the markup on flowers for the day is outrageous!
So am curious to hear what others think....do you go all out for the day or do you just do what you gotta do to get by and stay out of the doghouse?
