So close, no matter how far, we couldn't be much more from the heart, forever trusting in who we are and nothing else matters… Trust I seek and I find in you for every day there’s something new; open our minds for a different view, because nothing else matters… “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make us into something else is the greatest accomplishment you can ever achieve”

Life is all about perception; either it’s yours, mine or theirs… Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect; it means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections and the perceptions of others to be yourself… For a person to have and enjoy true success; you must ask yourself these four questions: Why -Why Not -Why Not Me -Why Not Now… I found that’s the difference being happy and surviving… The suspicious believe everybody to be suspicious… The liar feels secure in the thought that they are not so foolish as to believe that there is such a phenomenon as a strictly truthful person… The envious see envy in every soul… The miser thinks everybody is eager to get his money... And the abandoned sensualist looks upon the saint as a hypocrite… It’s been said many times that you have your way and I have my way; as for the right way, the correct way, or the only way -it does not exist and the grey area in between is nothing more than perception.

A Place Called Tombstone

I had the privilege a couple years to visit and explore the Arizona landscape and one of the places that I really enjoyed was Tombstone… It’s an old western town kept alive by ghost stories and the exploits of an era in silver mining that made the wild west “wild”, here’s a little of it’s history… Tombstone was founded in 1877 by a prospector named Ed Schieffelin… Ed was part of a scouting expedition against the Chiricahua (chir-i-cow-uh) Apaches, and during his time there he would venture out into the wilderness "looking for rocks", all the while ignoring the warnings he received from the soldiers… They would tell him, "Ed, the only stone you will find out there will be your tombstone". .. Well, Ed did find his stone and it was Silver; remembering the words of warning from the soldiers, he named his first mine “The Tombstone”…

The Bird Cage Theater -was a saloon, theater, gambling hall and brothel… Legend has it that no self-respecting woman in town would even walk on the same side of the street as the Bird Cage Theater… It opened its doors on Christmas Day 1881 and ran 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year until closing its doors in 1889… In 1882, The New York Times reported, "the Bird Cage Theater is the wildest, wickedest night spot between Basin Street and the Barbary Coast." Evidence of this can still be seen in the 140 supposed bullet holes that have been found in the walls and ceiling. The Bird Cage was named for the cage style crib compartments suspended from the ceiling. It was in these "Bird Cages" that the "ladies of the evening" entertained their customers. The story goes that they were the inspiration for the song, "She's only a bird in a gilded cage", which was quite popular during the early 1900's…

Tombstone is also the home of Boothill Graveyard… Boothill began in 1879 and was used until 1884 when the New Tombstone City Cemetery was opened on west Allen Street… After the opening of the new cemetery, Boothill became known as "The Old Cemetery". ..The City cemetery is still in use today… Legend has it that Boothill was named for the fact that many residents there died violent or unexpected deaths and were buried with their boots on, however; it was actually named Boothill after Dodge City's pioneer cemetery in the hopes of attracting tourists in the late 1920's… Many famous Tombstone folks lie there including the victims of the 1881 Shootout on Fremont Street between the Earp’s and the Cowboys… For many years, it was neglected and the desert overtook parts of it and while vandals removed grave markers and pieces of its history… Then, in the 1920's concerned citizens began the process of cleaning up the Old Cemetery and researching the placement of the graves to preserve it for future generations (and to make a little money on tourism)… go figure

The most famous event in Tombstone's history was the famed Gunfight at the OK Corral, which didn't actually happen at the corral, but in a vacant lot on Fremont Street. On October 26, 1881, members of the "Cowboys" had a run-in with Wyatt, Virgil and Morgan Earp with help from Wyatt's friend Doc Holliday. 24 seconds and 30 shots later, Billy Clanton, Tom and Frank McLaury were mortally wounded. In many peoples opinion, it was this one event that has kept Tombstone alive for all these years… Are there ghost of the past of just a hokey tourist trap in the middle of the Arizona desert, If you ever find yourself out that way stop in a judge for yourself… I was glad I did, even though I wasted 20 bucks on the Birdcage Ghost Tour… I left at the end of the day with some nice memories, having a few cold beers, a nice meal and a taste of the old west that you only read about in books and see on the silver screen… After all "it was silver" that made Tombstone…

I’ve learned in this journey of life, that grief never ends… It’s something that we all have to experience in one form or another throughout our lifetime, it continually changes into many forms as time goes by, but it’s only a passage and not a place to stay… Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a loss of faith, it’s the price of love, when it’s taken to soon… We can’t choose when or where it will happen, but we can choose what happens in between… Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend…

The Full Wolf Micro-Moon

Although it may look like it from month to month, not all full moons are created equal… Some are bigger and some are smaller... January's full moon, which happens tonight on the 15th, is the smallest full moon of the year… Unlike the “Supermoon” which happens three times this year (due to its rather arbitrary astrological definition), tonight's “Apogee Moon”, or 'micro-moon,' is a once-in-a-year event…

Full Wolf Moon – Tonight is a night to protect your family because in January amid the cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howl hungrily outside the villages looking for their pray to fest upon in a cold winter night… Tonight is also a night of celebration in the abundance of the harvest to carry you through the winter, a time of manifesting sexual desires and the wish fulfillment of achieving your dreams and protection… This is a night we call the Full Wolf Moon…

If our sexual fantasies were truly of interest to others,
then they would no longer be fantasies, but freedom and liberty,
it’s an attribute of the soul that exists even when the body
is in bondage… If you’re looking for some freedom and liberty,
come and play with me and let’s explore our boundaries…
Have A Wonderfully Wicked Twisted Tuesday

Sunday Mornin' Thoughts - Stalkers

I’m not willing to share all the details or the circumstances of why I’m writing this post, and I can’t speak for everyone, but I suspect that most of us have faced a stalker at some point in our lives… There are many types of stalkers out there and most of them are harmless, some of them are a pain in the ass, while others make you wanna throw up in your mouth a little by the audacity of their actions, but I’m talking about a person who intentionally and repeatedly follows or harasses another person and makes a credible threat, either expressed or implied, with the intent to place that person in reasonable fear of death or serious bodily harm… This is a tough post to write and talk about, but it’s still a 600 pound gorilla that a lot of us or someone we know has faced in one form or another and this is my story…

I recently started seeing someone who has an aggressive and violent stalker that has now become my stalker… In the beginning, I found it somewhat humorous, but this guy has crossed the line and to be honest, I feel somewhat violated, that I have to look over my shoulder for a faceless coward because of his verbal threats and knowing that he’s out their waiting in ambush… In the beginning she wasn’t even willing to discuss the situation, but I knew she was getting harassing phone calls that was upsetting her… As we began to talk about it, I found out this guy beat her in their relationship, a relationship that only lasted a couple months, he has confronted her in several public places with threats and even pulled a knife on her more than once… With reluctance she shared a couple of the phone messages with me and to be honest they made me sick, he’s even threatened me in several of his calls even saying once that he wanted to cut off my balls and eat them “yeah this is one sick fucker” … He has no way to contact me or I’m sure that I would be getting the same phone calls…

There is a part of me that sez I should dump this girl and run like hell in the opposite direction as fast as I can, but in the same breath, should anyone have to live in fear because someone can’t let go… I have helped her take the steps that she needs to change her phone number, her address and end any and all contact with her past that concerns him, but when you can’t go to a grocery store, visit your family or even go to a restaurant without the fear of running into him, that’s a hell all in its own that just can’t be explained or tolerated… Is there addition help from the police or the courts at this point “NO” they show up when they’re called and they leave afterwards… I’m not sure where this story is going to go or how it’s going to end, I’m really hoping that time and distance will be the answer… Do I like this person I’m seeing, yeah I do and while were not exclusive, given the right situation, I think she could be someone very special to me, I see a lot of me in her and for the most part all she needs is a hand to help her get on her feet and not live her life in fear… The last thing I need in my life is another beautiful disaster, hell I’m enough of my own… But some things are just worth fighting for…

Panhandlers

A woman was walking down the street when she was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby looking homeless woman who asked her for a couple dollars for dinner… The woman took out her wallet extracted 10 dollars and asked the woman “will you by some wine with the money instead of dinner”… “No” I stopped drinking years ago replied the homeless woman… “Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying dinner” asked the woman… “No” replied the homeless woman “I spend all my time just trying to stay alive”… “Will you spend this at the salon instead of buying dinner” asked the woman… “Are you nuts” replied the homeless woman “I haven’t had my hair done in over 20 years”…Well said the woman “I’m not going to give you this money, instead I’m going to take you out dinner with me and my husband tonight”… The homeless woman was astounded by the offer she just received and replied “Won’t your husband be upset with you, I’m known to be dirty and probably smell pretty disgusting too”… To which the woman replied “That’s OK” I want my husband to see what happens when a woman gives up shopping, the salon and wine…

On a more serious note… How do you respond to panhandlers… Do you give them some spare change, a few bucks or do you just turn your head and walk away… I try to trust my gut feeling and if I think they really are in need, I try to help if I can… But if I think they’re about the BS –I’ll walk away without a regret... On the flip side of the coin how do you deal with a person who uses you; whether it be for money or just to a make a point

Nothing in this wicked world is permanent, not even our troubles “so if you want your life to be a magnificent story, then you must start; by beginning to realize that you’re the author of your story and every day you have the opportunity to write a new page”… The best part of my morning -is knowing, that there are people out there “who look forward to seeing me”… The best part of my afternoon is working in the cube farm or out in the field and hearing stories that make laugh…The best part of my evening is coming back to the hotel and being inspired by the stories that I read… I wish I could tell all of you that life on the road is all fun and games, but to be honest it hard work and being alone most of the time… I do it; because I make a difference in people lives, knowing the medicines that you take every day are safe & consistent, as well as, the science that makes it happen is very important to me… While there are moments that I do live a life of a rock star and indulge in some wonderful adventures, it a small penance for the price and toll this job has taken on me over the last 15 years… Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world, being normal is not something I know how to do, no matter how hard I try… I’ve learned that normality is like a paved road, it’s comfortable to walk on, but there are no flowers to enjoy… So when I get the chance to step off that paved road to enjoy the sweet smell of the flowers or a beautiful vista, I can’t help but think “how sweet it is”… For those of you that have traveled that journey with me “thank you” it’s because of you “that life is good”… Peace & Love My Friends

They say the best people possess a feeling for beauty,
the courage to take risks when others seek shelter,
the discipline for the truth and the capacity for sacrifice…
Ironically it’s those virtues that make them most vulnerable
and they are often wounded and sometimes destroyed
by those that never understood nor will they ever understand…
Because the kindness and warmth of their heart will heat even
the coldest of days and bring light to the darkest hours...
So take a moment to share a smile, a short story with a stranger
or a random act of kindness… You’ll feel better for it… I know I do
