take a knee don't tell me i'm anti flag. or that i hate my country. don't tell me i'm disrespecting the people who serve or our veterans. i worked my ass off for them. i take a knee in protest and in support. i take a knee because #blacklivesmatter and i was raised as a privileged white racist. I take a knee against police brutality. against a president who is so dimwitted that he didn't even realize that Puerto Rico is part of America but goes golfing while people there go without food or water., against a congress that allows healthcare for get kicked to the curb, while they fight for billions of dollars of tax credits for the mega wealthy. what if instead of being annoyed that athletes were taking a stance, the fans in the stadium, took a knee. imagine saying to those brave young men...........we get it. bless you. imagine if we all took a knee together. everyone, and let the Cheetoh Man see. You cannot conceive the many without the one. |

Imagine if people would truly listen to each other. Then these flag waving "I am more of a Patriot than you" types would find out that YOU also love your country, and the reason you are protesting is that you love it so much, you don't want it to "go down in flames", " "go down the tubes", or be torn apart any more than it already has been. It's obvious to those of us who are outside America, watching this. How can America vote for a president who said he wanted to make America great again, then will not condemn white supremacists for killing a peaceful protester, but comdemns sportsmen for standing up for the injustice in their country. A president that thinks knealing is disrespectful. WHY DOES A MAN KNEAL TO PROPOSE ? he is respecting the woman he chose to marry. THIS GUY IS A COMPLETE MORON AMERICA. They are taking a knee in exactly the right place. This country's legal system condones and rewards these police abuses of power. Most times there is never even an indictment let alone a conviction for these out right murders that are even video taped for all the world to see. Until there is real accountability, Yes it should be pointed out that although this country has it's good points, this needs to be addressed. It may make some of you uncomfortable but these are the rights granted in the constitution that I swore to defend as a member of the armed services. Oh, and it is a matter of public record what these athletes do for and in their communities. I always hear people saying they need to go into the community. GO and look up what Kaep does to back up what he says.

I, for the first time in my life, finally have a small sliver of respect for football. And if taking a knee will end police brutality, if it will end racism? I will gladly walk on my knees all day. So many people are turning this into disrespect for the flag and being unpatriotic. It has less than shit to do with patriotism. It has everything to do with illegal search and seizure, it has everything to do with racial profiling, it has everything to do with innocent people being murdered and imprisoned. Funny how you never see anyone say shit about the message these people are trying to send, only rebuttals about how "I'm not racist" How unfair they are being, how disrespectful, how anti-American....ad nauseum.... This is one of those subjects that I could easily write a three page discourse about and stir up a whole hornets nest of controversy, but I am just going to say this: Name the place, give me time to get there, I will gladly take a knee with you. You are correct. But, I see a worse measure. 3 out of 10 people, might see using the flag for protest as disrespect. The other 7 are angry for protest on police shooting black people for sport. They want it to continue. And will say you are being lied too by the media. Over all, I agree with you.

Is democratic behavior the behavior that democracies like or the behavior that best preserves a democracy? I support the right to kneel in protest. I pray that kneeling is only the beginning. I pray that we all can join together to move our country forward to be a leader for human rights that the world respects. BTW, Wicked, I respect your courage to post on a political subject that is certain to bring on strong a strong response from your readers! Keep it up. QuietMan

Interesting about how you put this. And usually on a sex site, taking a knee or getting on your knees means something altogether! I not only support the right of anyone to peacefully protest injustice, but those who have a wide platform should do so if their conscious tells them so. I am an activist. So are you, sis.
