I live in the middle of nowhere, I pretty much have to drive a minimum of 2-3 hours to get to anyone but it doesn't really bother me.

I think that to meet anybody distant, you'd need to be going there anyway. When you have sanity restored to your domestic politics, I might visit the States to see some of the natural marvels of your country. If I was in contact wth somebody close to my itinarary, I'd be happy to meet for drinks/dinner and take it from there. It is almost impossible to know what somebody is like in person from a virtual interaction, so for both parties, walking away must be possible - to do this after somebody has spent a lot of time and money travelling would be awkward. Apart from you, what natural wonders does northern Michigan offer ?

I travel quite a bit for work driving so if it's I'm my territory I'd drive to meet up. If it meant for a weekend or evenings together during the week.

If it is the right person ... distance would not be an issue. I would drive an hour or fly if needed.
