Charged for Non - Delivered Instant Message

Why does this site and its "sister" sites have such technical issues with the Instant Messenger application here? Messages are sent and either no status appears or delivered and possibly read. Can not see a reason to charge a point for a non delivered message. Also why are there such issues when people actually do respond yet you cant see there response. Only way to fix that sometimes is to close IM and refresh. You might think at this point in time such known issues would have been corrected by now.
Then reality strikes and you realize there is little concern for such issues and its just going to be that way regardless.

I sense your frustrations through the poor IM system and I, along with everyone else here, deal with it's quirks. From the perspective of the average every day members here, we have good reason to grumble about it and to us it makes no sense at all as to why the issues reside and why the site can't/don't fix the bugs. However, from the perspective of this site, it all makes perfect sense. Let's keep in mind one extremely important fact here: This site is a business and nothing more. It's sole purpose in the grand scheme of things is to make money and it doesn't care how or what it takes to do so.

That having been said, it becomes perfectly clear ( in my opinion ), that all of the bugs, quirks and glitchy systemic things that go on through the IM platform are done intentionally. Yes, you heard me correctly, it's done intentionally by the people behind this site.
Examples: If the system exhausts your points without a message being delivered, it prompts a desperate person to purchase points.
If glitchy messages ( such as the dreaded mystery of the square box symbols ) are randomly generated and sent member to member at random, it gives false hope that someone is interested in that person and to join as a paying member to continue a chat that hasn't even been initiated by the sender to begin with. A.k.a. "Baiting".
If people receive 'profile notifications' from others who claim they haven't even viewed their profiles, it's a self generated scheme to get people to pay.
These are all simple examples ( that people here easily overlook ) that this site and system is purely about money making, along with the system of tipping, gifts, ambassador tasks, and restrictions per whichever level of membership you are ( or aren't ). Again, it's all about money, nothing else. This site could care less about how it functions, as long as the money is there, then it's a system that is working ( for them ). Signing on to IM at any point of the day or night and looking down my list, I take notice that the vast majority of the people on that IM list are paying gold members...my estimate, 95% or more. That being said, if this were your business, would you fix what's not broken? If people are willingly going to pay for a service that they grumble about that rarely functions properly, I have to ask myself: Who is the fool here? Is it the people willingly paying for a poor service year after year or is it the site who is making millions off of the ignorance of those people? The answer seems quite obvious. No matter what the situation in life, when you look at root causes for mostly any issue out there, you'll ultimately boil it down to money being the root cause and culprit....that's ALWAYS where all the corruption, greed, lies and crooks reside. This site is a reflection of just that. As long we willingly accept and tolerate that here as a whole, the system will ultimately continue on being status quo because it's making money...and lots and lot of it.

Just my point of view on that matter.
