Irma follow-up
Irma follow-up Good evening - I truly appreciate everyone's thoughts leading up to and during Irma. It was a long night, as I lost power very early (7:30 pm) in the storm and spent the night listening to the extreme winds. It as very eerie evening and then while checking the local news on my phone I find out the eye moved east was moving towards my location...let's just say I didn't get much sleep and having no a/c didn't help the situation. Luckily, I did not sustain any structural damage to my house or pool enclosure - I would've bet money the pool enclosure would not have survived the storm. I did have quite a few tree limbs down and my yard looked horrible with all of the debris. I ended up bagging 11 green trash bags and you can barely tell I did any work. I was also lucky enough that power restored in the early afternoon hours. Half of my neighborhood still does not have power and I heard that over 4 million people in the state of Florida did not have power this morning. I appreciate all of the lineman (and other first responders) that left their families to work to restore power. While 18 hours w/out electricity was not fun, it truly was only a minor inconvenience compared to others that have or are suffering much worse. |

I agree on all accounts - the Keys were devastated and they are still digging out. It will take years for them to recover.
