"I try to tie you down with synonyms, and sad piano sounds - For a moment you surrender..."
"I try to tie you down with synonyms, and sad piano sounds - For a moment you surrender..." "I try to tie you down with synonyms and sad piano sounds For a moment you surrender, one moment we both stand on the same ground..." This song describes one’s return to life after the loss of a loved one. The speaker describes his loved one as being trapped in the rooms of his mind, and how he can hear her footsteps as like he was there, but when he turned around, she is not there. The examples get deeper, as he is so depressed that he doesn’t even want to speak or communicate what he is feeling. Once he breaks his own silence with her prodding (her influence in his thoughts), he tries to immortalize his love by writing about her, trying to capture her in words and lines, but to no success she must pass on. ... "[Verse 1] I didn't hear you enter but I know you have been circling my room I listen for your footsteps, close my eyes and wait for you to move You're hiding like a memory, teasing like a girl I used to know You're tumbling and gamboling, calling to the weakness in my soul [Chorus] Telling me to speak [Verse 2] And in one reckless moment you move a little too close to my ear I grab a hold with both hands and scramble to make sense of what I hear I try to tie you down with synonyms and sad piano sounds For a moment you surrender, one moment we both stand on the same ground [Chorus] And I begin to speak [Verse 3] And all at once you pull away but I'm lost within your atmosphere As quickly as you found me I panic as you try to disappear I reach out with my fingers and try to pull the letters back in line Your words spin out of order and the pounding in my chest is out of time [Chorus] And I just want to speak....." Ben Abraham - "Speak" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am sharing this with you my little pretties... I cannot take credit for the explanation to the lyrics that are rendered for your criticism... I only hope that you found the same beauty thru the sadness... A very interesting interpretation, and song, ‘haunting,’ just like any one who has an unforgettable trauma for losing his/her beloved one. You’re right ‘she must pass on,’ and thus, this heartbroken guy is able to go on. ‘Let the past pass’ is a better way to start a new life. Thanks for this song. Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog. I search for songs on the internet and find gems quite often. For this one, an interpretation had been posted, which is the one I shared. Then, when I listened to the song, I could picture the story. I’m glad that you liked it. Have a great day. To leave private messages, please use my confidential mailbox at my blog: Good luck!!!

Wow. If I had not read "but to no success she must pass on" I could have put these words to another scenario. Perfectly. Thank you for sharing.
