when we are not perfect in someone elses eyes

i havent posted on here in quite awhile. i guess its time. i have been off the road and home in kentucky since feb 1. this is the longest i have been home in over 2 years. it took some getting used to on my part, but i seem to be surviving.

i have been using a cane to walk with since october, 2011. this is due to an auto wreck that happened 23 years ago. anyway, i posted this on my sight so i would not be anybodys surprise when the meet n greet came along. that gave you the option of you meeting me before hand if the cane was an issue. i know it is and was to some of you. i totally understand that. i have learned to live with it for the moment. you see on my part, the cane is not permanent. and when i do get rid of it, hopefully in the next couple of months, i think im going to leave it posted as such. You see, the cane should not matter, it does not change the person. it does affect how you feel about your self sometimes. it can get you down.

but we all have issues. they may not be a cane, but they can be something else. so remember that when you decide not to date someone because of a cane, hearing aid, or some other issue.

I want to point out to you, that one day you will be that person. so if you think you are perfect right now, you may be, but when something happens to you and that person you are dating or married to, may decided, hey i didnt sign up for this.

I applaud all of you men that have decided to date me even though i use the cane. It tends to be more of an issue for me, then it does some of you. I totally appreciate the fact some of you accept it as part of me. I also know i have lost men because of it, and one of them was a man i cared deeply about very very much. that surprised me but it happened, and one day i will let him know i no longer use that cane, then i will hold my head up, turn and walk away.

Again, i want to thank all of you men that have been there for me. thank you so much from the bottem of my heart. have a good day all.

Enjoy the ride searching for what you want here..........thegrls

The issue of Different always come's up on Senior Sizzle . So for many the idea of a cane is different . And unknown so it's easier to run and hide from it . Then take the time to understand it all . Good luck to you . As it sounds like you have it handled just right ..

Good for you! I was also in an auto accident years ago and for a few years used a cane. To this day, I carry a cane in my car and have another in my house because there are times when I feel I just might need it again. And you're absolutely right--I'm the same person with or without my cane.

It shouldn't make a difference whether you have to use a cane or not. That small detail makes no difference in your attractiveness or your personality. And it certainly wouldn't make a difference to me.
