I have tried to do this several times in the past. For me it never seemed to work out. One of us always wanted more then the other so we had to end the sex and friendship.

To be quite to the point, yes. I have many friends who remain just friends. Recreational sexual activity is refreshing.

Yes, I have two very close female friends that I was intimate with in the past, one relationship was five years, we are still good friends even though we are no longer intimate, we respect each other, and care about each other, even though the sexual part of the relationship is gone, the friendship will last forever.

And that is the way it goes at times....But for me, personal opinion here, I start every relationship off first as friends...then the intimacy. Makes it alot better in the end...and like I said most of mine are still friends.

My experience has been that once you are no longer intimate with someone, you no longer see each other.

My relationship with my wife is a perfect example. We had gloriously awesome sex for 5 years until she had a shitload of medical problems, surgeries, etc. SO it really hard sometimes to restrain my desire knowing what a wonderful lover she is and not be able to do anything about it. She is still my rock in an unstable world and I am VERY grateful to have her.
