Bad site
Bad site Occasionally I see other sites that look promising. However, having been an active participant of adult dating sites over the last 15 - 20 years I've learned how to suss a site pretty well. Whenever I join a site, I use a junk mail account. It's valid....I use it but it's my mail account that I know crap ends up in. I start off my profile with virtually nothing.....the bare minimum that I need to register. I click the link that some of them send to verify the email. Then I wait. I joined a site 2 weeks ago. So far, I've had 100 views and 50 messages. My profile says "bloke seeks a shag". That's it. The people viewing me and sending messages have mostly been foreign sounding names. My guess....the site is a waste of time. Trick #1 - costs nothing to defend against.....good sites don't need to send false profiles to tap you up. A site that sends messages and alerts you to profile views but requires you to pay money to view the message or the profile is more than likely trying to relieve you of your hard earned reddies....at worst it could be an organised crime site. Any self respecting site will allow you to view emails and profiles but will ask you to subscribe to send messages. Senior Sizzle is clearly heading in the wrong direction |

yes they are heading in the wrong direction, and even with buying a gold membership, what you get in return isn't all that great. they like to sell you on all the diversions they employ on this site, but the actual meeting of others has dropped off as they continue to isolate the free members. plus they love to boast about how many profiles the site has, but i would say 2/3 rds are unused ones which haven't logged in for a year or more. when i see a site which keeps profiles open, 1,2 years of no activity, to me that is a red flag on actual active users are far below their numbers

There are a number of ways around the message center restriction for standard members. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

What good would it do if one could read email and look at profiles but not return/send a message? All these sites are about making money just like any other site. Auto makers create new accessories to make more money...you try out a car...you like it...now the dealer tries to sell you gadgets to add. Go to an apparel store to buy a top and they will try to sell you pants, shoes, and accessories to go with the outfit. It's all the money-honey and if you don't want to pay it someone else will.

This site, in its heyday, had a lobby of over 100 people at any time of the day. You struggled to find a quiet room. I met many people from here and am still friends with a couple of people. I subscribed a number of times. Yeah you got your fair share of trolls but false profiles were few and far between. My opinion is its a sign that the site has lost its way and is in decline.

As I replied to sassy above. I'm not against profit, profit is good and healthy. My issue is the way you make that profit. If you create a false profile or have an algorithm and use that to entice people to subscribe by making them believe the person behind the enticement is real then that's fraud. Suddenly your pursuit of profit is illegal. And if you have to resort to that, sorry but you've screwed up, your marketing mix, your unique selling point is wrong. You've lost your way

I know, it's great...but I'm not on social media I did the FB thing for a while and then decided I preferred life off the grid a little bit. But you are correct, there are many sites that crop up and offer something different to those seeking adventure......perhaps our paths will cross

I agree...and I'm not cussing this site...it's one of the better ones but once upon a time it was better...its losing its way and being dragged into the quagmire....but your point is perfectly valid
